Stairlift Installation, Done Right
From the first phone call to your first ride, here's what to expect when Stairlift ASAP installs your Harmar stairlift.
1. Call or request an evaluation
Call 202-247-0588 or fill out the short form. We'll ask about your stairs, who will ride, and how soon you need the lift — including hospital discharge dates.
2. Free in-home evaluation
James visits your home, measures the staircase, checks the angle, width, power outlet and clearance at the top and bottom, and talks through straight vs curved options. You get a clear written quote. No pressure.
3. Professional installation
Harmar rails attach to the stair treads with brackets — not to your walls — so there's no major construction. Most straight lifts go in within a few hours. We clean up and safety-test every function.
4. Training & support
We teach the rider and family how to use the controls, remotes, seat belt, swivel and battery charging, and we leave you a local number to call with any question.
How to prepare for installation day
- Clear the stairs and the area at the top and bottom
- Make sure there's a working outlet near the top or bottom of the stairs
- Put pets in a separate room
- Have the rider home for the training at the end
That's it. We handle the rest.
Service & maintenance
Harmar stairlifts are built to be low-maintenance, but like anything with a motor and batteries, they benefit from occasional attention. Keep the rail clean, keep the lift parked on its charging point, and call us if you hear an alert or notice anything unusual. Harmar stairlift batteries typically need replacement every few years; we can tell you what to watch for.
